Mission: To develop and build self confidence through participation in a competitive yet fun basketball program with individual attention and group participation while promoting growth, discipline, goal setting, sportsmanship and sound work ethics by teaching physical and mental basketball skills.
Goal: To teach the skills, confidence and attitude to each individual student-athlete to reach their optimum potential in basketball and compete at a higher level.
Staff:
Coach Kevin Davis: Coach Davis fell in love with basketball when he started playing as a young child in Pennsylvania. Soon, dreams of playing basketball in college and being on T.V. filled his mind. He realized both and more.
In high school, he was coached by Phil Martelli, currently of St. Joseph's University, in which they went on to win the Pennsylvania Keystone State Championships. Later that year, Coach Davis was invited to participate in the Philadelphia 76'ers Rookie and Veteran Camp and Practice.
Receiving All State honors in Pennsylvania, he played Division One Basketball at Lafayette College after being recruited by legendary coach and former Los Angeles Lakers coach, Butch van Breda Kolff. At Lafayette, he was a four-year starter as a point guard, played shooting guard and forward and was Team Captain. Davis learned many valuable basketball skills and life lessons, from van Breda Kolff, as well as how to pass them on to other athletes.
After college, Davis was a member of the eight-man roster for the Washington Generals, better known as the team that toured and played against the Harlem Globetrotters. He has played all over the United States, on four continents, ABC Wide World of Sports, and in front of presidents, kings, princes, sheiks and crowds of 25,000. Coach Davis has also enjoyed competing against noted NBA players such as Kareem Abdul Jabbar (Basketball Hall of Fame, MVP), Olympic Dream Team members Charles Barkley and David Robinson, Jerome "Poo" Richardson, B.J. Armstrong, Cedel Threat, Dennis Rodman, Dana Barros, Maurice Martin, Johnny Morton, Charles Smith, and,Jerome Lane. | Guarded by All-American Roy Marble, University of Iowa.
